Dan's journey in the automotive industry began at Pomona High School in Southern California back in 1996. That's when a teacher first noticed his talent for working on mechanical things and encouraged him to pursue a career as a smog technician. Unfortunately, Dan missed obtaining his smog license by just five questions on the rigorous exam. But this initial setback didn't deter him.

Eager to deepen his knowledge, Dan enrolled in Toyota's Technician Training & Education Network (T-TEN) auto repair program at Citrus College in Glendora in 1998. The highly regarded two-year program gave Dan a thorough understanding of all things automotive. It also marked the start of his hands-on experience in the field, as he began taking on side jobs to hone his skills.

Upon graduation, Dan joined Rancho Valley Automotive, a General Motors dealership in Pomona, where he learned all aspects of the business, from sales to parts and service. Working with customers from all walks of life during those eight years also helped him discover another one of his talents: a passion for helping others.

In 2009, Dan decided to further his training, enrolling at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (LATTC), where he focused on motorcycle repair. This program gave Dan a chance to learn every aspect of the field, from basic maintenance to complete engine teardowns and rebuilds. Afterward, he put this new expertise to good use during his tenure at Whittier Fun Center, a motorcycle dealership and service center.

In 2012, Dan embraced a new challenge with Enterprise Car Rental at Ontario Airport, working the night shift. His responsibilities included performing oil services, tire changes, brake jobs, and other maintenance and reconditioning work. This role underscored his ability to work autonomously and manage a wide range of automotive maintenance tasks efficiently. It was also during this time that Dan successfully took on the challenge of becoming an ASE-certified technician.

Today, Dan owns his own business, DEVOLADA ROADSIDE & TIRE. Operating out of Yucaipa, it offers assistance to the vast number of travelers passing through the Inland Empire on their way into and out of Los Angeles. Whether it's a simple tire change or complicated mechanical repair, his service specializes in getting people back on their way with a minimum of time or fuss. Its impressive five-star Yelp rating reflects Dan's dedication to detail, transparency, and customer service.

With more than 20 years of experience and training under his belt, Dan is clearly an accomplished auto tech.
